The coastal skipper exam preparation helps
      exam candidates brush up on their skills. You
      can take the exam on a Freescape vessel.

In the coastal skipper exam the candidate will be expected to demonstrate understanding but may not have had the opportunity to practice all aspects of the syllabus under a range of different weather conditions

The course covers; collision regulations, safety, boat handling, general seamanship, skipper responsibilities, navigation and meteorology.

Suggested minimum pre-course experience; 30 days at sea (2 days as skipper), 800 miles, 12 night hours. With holders of the Coastal Skipper Practical course completion certificate this is reduced to 20 days at sea (2 days as skipper), 400 miles and 12 nights hours).

Course Duration 5 days. This can be in the forms of 5 days, 2 days plus 3 days or 3 weekends.
